Luu Phuong Temple (also known as Luu Phuong Shrine) is currently located in hamlet 5A, Luu Phuong commune, 2km northwest of Phat Diem town.

Luu Phuong Temple was built when Luu Phuong and Phat Diem hamlets were formed (1829-1835). It was originally built near the road passing the Yem River and was moved to its current location in 1916.

Luu Phuong Temple worships Trieu Quang Phuc and the ancestors who made great contributions to establishing Luu Phuong and Phat Diem hamlets. Pham Thanh Ly and Nguyen Chi recruited people to settle in the Luu Phuong and Phat Diem hamlet. Nguyen Van Nien established the ancestral altar. They all came from Tra Lu, which is now Xuan Phuong commune, Xuan Thuy district, Nam Dinh province.

The temple consists of a three-gate entrance with eight roofs and the main temple. Luu Phuong Temple has an architectural style of "tien nhat hau dinh" with southern tiled roofs and four buildings in a unique Nguyen dynasty style.

During the resistance war against French colonialism, the village communal house was a gathering place for the village's communist party and monitored the activities of officials in nearby districts, in the temporarily occupied area. During the anti-war period against the US imperialists, the eastern gully of the temple was a frontline air defense position, and the large banyan tree in the temple yard was used as an observation post for the local militia to regularly report on the situation to the district. Luu Phuong Temple was also a place to store fabrics for the Kim Son district.

Luu Phuong Temple still preserves some precious artifacts from the Nguyen dynasty, such as the dragon altar, dragon palace, wooden statues, couplets, tablets, and nine seals.

Every year, there are several festivals held at the temple, including the birthday of Trieu Viet Vuong on the 6th day of the first lunar month, the birthday of the two great kings on the 10th day of the second lunar month, and the commemoration of Duc Tien Emperor on the 14th day of the eighth lunar month. Among them, the festival on the 14th day of the eighth lunar month is the largest. The festival lasts for three days, from the 13th to the 15th of the eighth lunar month, with activities such as worship ceremonies and traditional games like Chinese chess and cockfighting.

Thanks to the attention of the local government and people, the temple has been renovated and restored many times, so it always looks magnificent and clean, and the worship items are carefully protected. In 2005, Luu Phuong Temple was ranked as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.
